Terms & Conditions

The rules for using the Mitgo ride-sharing app as a passenger or a driver.

Last updated: 17 Sep 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using the Mitgo app, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. The service

Mitgo is a platform that connects drivers travelling along a route with passengers who want to share that journey. Mitgo is not a transport provider: rides are arranged between drivers and passengers, and drivers are not employees or agents of Mitgo.

3. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the app.
  • You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for all activity on your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
  • One person may hold only one account.

4. Driver obligations

Before publishing rides, drivers must complete verification. As a driver, you agree to:

  • Hold a valid driving licence and the insurance required to carry passengers.
  • Use a roadworthy vehicle that matches the details submitted during verification.
  • Submit genuine documents. Applications with invalid or altered documents will be rejected.
  • Drive safely, obey traffic laws and never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Only publish rides you genuinely intend to make, and honour confirmed bookings.
  • Not operate as a commercial taxi service or charge more than the fare shown in the app.

5. Passenger obligations

  • Arrive at the pickup point on time and board using the in-app boarding confirmation.
  • Book only the seats you need and carry only the luggage allowed for the ride.
  • Treat the driver, other passengers and the vehicle with respect.
  • Pay the fare shown at booking through the app.

6. Payments, tokens and fees

  • Fares are shown before you book and are paid through the app. Payments are processed by our payment provider.
  • Drivers use tokens to publish rides. Tokens are purchased in packages, are not currency and cannot be exchanged for cash except where required by law.
  • Mitgo may deduct a platform contribution from the fare paid to the driver. Applicable rates are shown in the app.
  • Driver earnings are paid out to the bank account connected through our payment provider.

7. Cancellations and refunds

Cancellations are subject to the cancellation policy shown in the app at the time of booking. The refund you receive, or the charge applied, depends on how close to departure the booking is cancelled and who cancels. No-shows may not be refunded. Changes to the number of seats booked are treated as a partial cancellation.

8. Prohibited conduct

You must not:

  • Harass, threaten, discriminate against or endanger other riders.
  • Share contact details in chat to arrange rides or payments outside the app.
  • Create fake accounts, bookings, ratings or rides.
  • Misuse the SOS feature or support channels.
  • Interfere with the app, its security or other users' access to it.

9. Safety

The app provides safety features such as SOS alerts and emergency contacts. These do not replace emergency services — in an emergency, always contact the local authorities first.

10. Suspension and termination

Mitgo may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, provides false information or puts other riders at risk. You may close your account at any time from the app or by contacting support.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Mitgo is not liable for the conduct of drivers or passengers, for delays or cancellations, or for loss or damage arising from a ride. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded by law.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms. Significant changes will be communicated in the app.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by Swiss law. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the competent Swiss courts, unless mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise.
